STAMPING RELIABILITY

Precision stamping has been at the heart of Batten & Allen since 1972. Our range of presses can offer small close pitch components with material thicknesses in the range of 10 microns thick to more heavy duty single piece stampings up to 2mm. With 22 high speed Bruderer presses capable of running on a three shift system we have the ability at Batten & Allen to produce over 650 million precision stamped parts per month.

We have 22 high speed Bruderer presses capable of running on a three shift system and can produce 650 million precision stamped parts per month with material thicknesses in the range of 10 microns up to 2mm for various industries.

With 22 high speed presses, we have the ability to run at 1800 spm. Furthermore, our closed door controlled climate facility enables us to serve the Medical industry with confidence by minimising the contamination of products and the ability to run presses at 1,400 strokes per minute under fine tolerance conditions.

Our policy of continued investment in high-specification inspection equipment helps us to maintain process control and ensure that the precision stamped parts we manufacture conform to appropriate customer specifications.

We use OGP Vantages equipped with laser probes in order to achieve measurement accuracy of two microns for stamped parts and Fischer X-Ray machines provide results with sub-micron resolution when measuring plating thickness.

Our management system is certified to ISO9001, ISO14001 and IATF16949.

One the most significant investments in tooling we have made is in the design, development and implementation of our standard modular tool which allows us to standardise the design thus resulting in significantly reduced lead times. This has also increased efficiency and produced significant savings in downtime, since only individual modules need to be replaced in the event of attention being required, allowing us to produce over 650 million precision stamped parts per month.

We pride ourselves in designing and manufacturing our own ancillary equipment incorporating the latest lean techniques and taking into account customer and quality requirements. We also offer a design and manufacture facility for our customer to help them incorporate our pressed parts into their manufacturing process.

We have developed our own tool protection system, consisting of sensors attached to the die set which constantly monitor and report on tool performance. The sensors can detect pitch variations as well as abnormal thickness – such as a metal slugs caught in the tool – and stop the press within a single cycle. We have direct links from our presses to our quality department allowing presses to be stopped remotely from the Quality Assurance office.
